I'd love to get some feedback on a situation I've encountered at work. I have a boss who is jealous of my abilities. And since he can find no fault in my performance he's chosen to criticize my character with his boss, who just so happens to be a friend of mine and the one who hired me. I work for a christian organization which complicates things. I love what I do, but hate the box my boss put me in by keeping me in the dark and limiting my projects. Help?!

What can I do about a boss who sends too many emails to constantly check up on the status of things? I work for several different people and feel that I manage my time wisely. If she would stop sending emails to check up on things every 5 minutes, I could get my work done. Help!

uploads, downlaods, pdfs and url's, It's all Greek to me. Any suggestions on who to call for quick, in-office computer help when needed? Whenever I am at a loss, I want to holler for my computer savvy sons, but their time is limited and I need a reliable cyber-helper.

My husband has been offered a transfer to another city, over 1800 miles away. I've just re-established myself in the workforce, and have a good job. I will be earning half the income we bring in. Tonight we had a huge fight and he told me that if I can't see how the move will help his career, he will relocate without me. The conversation was angry and is not over. I know it signals the end of our marriage. I feel like there has to be some kind of compromise, but I am talking to a stone.

I am assigned to work on a project with a co-worker. Whenever we meet, he does a lot of posing that he knows the answer to most everything when in fact I know he doesn't. I can't get him to listen to basic information without him trying to discredit put me down - especially in front of others on the team. When I try and confront him about what is going on, he becomes so angry that it scares me. What can I do?

I've recently returned to work after taking 5 years off to raise my son. The women in my department have been distant, and do not include me in the regular beat of what's going on. I've overheard a conversation about me - that I was a stay at home Mom, and they've been working for years to advance, and now I come in and think I can get a job that was supposed to go to one of the women in the group. I am at a loss - do I address the issue, or just try to be social and defrost the situation?

I have a job that I don't hate. I don't love it either. I've spent so many years doing things that I don't hate, if somebody asked me what I love to do, I don't think I could tell them. I'm tired of this and want to wake up in the morning excited to go to work. How do I start?

I am getting harassed by my boss. He is making very clear remarks to me about wanting to go out, and what he can do for my career if I were to go out with him for dinner. I can only imagine what he would try if I was to go out. I am his Executive Assistant and I need a job to cover bills. I am so stressed out that I have trouble sleeping, and I hate to go to work. I know he will fire me if I don't give in. What can I do?

One of my co-workers is getting too close to me. She tries to hang with me all the time, and I keep receiving flowers and little gifts. She just says she is a generous person, but it is really too much. How can I tell her to stop and take a step back, without a problem? I have to work with her, and she sits in the same group as I do.

I recently asked my boss if I could take up a volunteer opportunity with a respected charity. This would require me to be out of the office for 4 hours each of 4 Fridays this fall. As I'm in a sales seat, he commented that OTHERS may questions my absence's effect on my production. I assured him I have sufficient back-up. Then he went on to say that he thinks it's a great idea for me to get involved in the charity. But why did he leave me with this lingering concerns about OTHERS?

A male coworker recently over stepped his directive by contacting one of my clients directly and not notifying me until after the fact. When I confronted him, he became anxious that I was actually angry with him when all I wanted to do was talk about how to handle the situation in the future. He went so far as to comment, "It's ok if you're mad. I like it when your'e angry - it's very sexy". My work environment is male dominated so I'm uncomfortable to speak up and do not want to involve HR.

I eat lunch in the cafeteria becuase I never have enough time to leave the building. I usually eat with the same group every day. Lately, the conversation is all about dishing the dirt on whoever they decide to have a group hate on - anyone is fair game. It is pretty intense and upsets me. I am in a hard place. If I stop having lunch with them, will I be their next target? At the same time, it is a really bad way to spend what little time I have to bet away from taking calls. Major stress

I work for a respected consultant. He is developing a web site based on his business. I am coordinating the project. Today, without any explanation from him, I started to get e-mails from various members of his family, giving me instructions on how to do some of the work. I am very uncomfortable with this, but don't want to lose the opportunity to work on this project. How should I approach it? What should I do if he pushes back?

I work on an IT team for a medium size manufacturer. One of the guys is pretty open about looking to leave. I have seen him take reports, and listened as he commented that what he's learning here will help him when he starts his own company, which he thinks will compete with this company, by having the same clients. All of us work hard to get data toegter and report to the company, and it is really pretty scarey that he is taking confidential data. Should I ignore what is happening?

I have always been a hard working, dedicated employee. Lately I am really overwhelmed and feel like the company is taking advantage of me. Our group seems to get more work assigned than other groups in the same department and for me, I'm working long days and weekends (up to 60 hours) and sometimes even a few hours at home on other "days off". While this is going on I see others reading the newspaper and doing their nails. How can I push back on this unfair situation witout being a "whiner"?

I really need to gain flexibility in my work hours as I have small children at home who are growing and requiring more of my time at their school or other activities. I've worked worked in big corporate jobs for more than a decade, my entire career. I'm now considering a transition to a consulting job where I would establish my own company and work as a contractor to gain flexibility. What pitfalls should I be aware of? How do I reconcile the potential instability in my income?

My mid-year performance review did not go so well - actually, it was quite poor. This is not the first time I've received a low rating over my three years at the firm. My manager said there are consistent themes that keep reoccuring. I feel I have been working very hard and do everything they ask of me, yet I'm unable to "crack the code" so to speak. Should I start looking for a new career or push harder for more supervision/support in my current role?

I've been working at my firm for a little over a year now. I am currently an administrative assistant, but have interest in moving into a business line seat within the next year. My reviews have been very good, so I know they value my work and skill set. How do I go about managing an internal move? How do I broach the topic with my boss without appearing as if I'm totally unsatisfied in my current role?
